Fires wreak havoc on mechanical systems, air quality and air ducts. Soot and particulate will spread throughout your property in your hvac system. Many buildings have return air ceilings which pull air from the inhabited area below the ceiling into the vacant area above the ceiling. This requires extensive labor, equipment and time. Filters require replacement, coils require decontamination, air duct returns and supply lines require cleaning in the appropriate manner. Many ducts are “lined” with insulation board or wrapped on the exterior of the ducts with blanket insulation. Once these insulation membranes are breached by smoke odor they require a specific type of cleaning and deodorization or full replacement. Mechanical cleaning and access to the ductwork can be difficult. IPR’s technicians have the equipment and tools necessary to reach, clean and deodorize your ducts post peril.
